ASSEMBLY, CORNER FLARE GAGE

The Corner Flare Gauge is used to measure corner flare at the inner most part of the corner where it is difficult to measure accurately with  calipers. Corner Flare is a natural tendency around a corner notch on any Intercept spacer as the material removed allows for variation in roll forming process of the spacer. Changes in roll design and the addition of a crimper station have provided another level of control in maintaining corner flare. These changes were critical for the development of Intercept Ultra SS Spacers but also provided improvement for Tin Plate and ThinPlate steel spacer forming.

Corner Flare can be a result of other things as well such as the effects of crimping, operator handling, Feeder Press corner punching and Roll Former
setup.
